Bug Description

Working on unity8 desktop, it is very annoying that the terminal app requires entering the password all the time. Please remove that, or at least provide an option to turn that off.

When you type the password using a keyboard on the screen is showed every character you type. If anybody is looking the screen he/she can know your password.

I don't know if I have to file a new bug because if this one is solved it will have no sense.

The "password characters are shown" issue is still valid, that's an issue in our QPA... not sure what the solution should be as that is something one would expect for touch/OSK, while it's obviously very odd with keyboard usage... I don't think Qt can currently differentiate this. Anyhow... the fact that the Terminal shows the password prompt is still very annoying. Besides, one can just press ESCAPE on the box and still get access to the terminal, also it also has a focusing issue after the password prompt is closed...

Why? You can use touch/OSK when your device is connected to an external screen and don't want they to know your password.

Thanks for the tip. I did never try it and it works. :) Althought pressing 'Cancel' the terminal is closed instead.

If there is someone, he also can see the keys you push.
Cheers,

@chg1 If your audience is in front of you (a class, for example) and the screen is behind, they won't see the keys you push but they can see the characters on the screen.
