Pressing spacebar inserts a period instead of whitespace

Bug Description
This happens only with the software keyboard and not with a physical keyboard. When pressing space multiple times a '.' is inserted after every other press. It makes python3 and vi unusable.

Hi,
This is no custom behaviour of the terminal app but something which can be turned off in the settings. It's a feature of the software keyboard, so there is no way to disable this for the terminal app only. Just change it in the settings app.
