sudo requires password even though terminal already had me type it

Bug Description

I authenticate upon opening the terminal, and then I do the exact same when using sudo in the terminal but without the GUI. This is entirely redundant…

I do appreciate the idea that the terminal has a separate "login" so that my siblings playing games on the phone won't get funny ideas, but then sudo still expects the very same "login" once again. This is… weird.

I don't think this is weird at all, unless the expectation is that you get a root shell when you launch the terminal. The authentication when you launch the app is to protect the user's account from mischief. It still makes sense to prompt for subsequent commands that may require a password. I'd hate to have the app login to a root session with no prompt at all... that'd be potentially destructive.

I'd agree with Victor on this.
