Bug Description

Ubuntu 13.04 with Qt 5.0.2 and Qt Creator 2.7.1.

When I try to clear the terminal of its current text with the command "clear", I get the error "TERM environment variable not set" instead of it clearing the screen.

Unfortunately Ubuntu Desktop hasn't declared 'TERM' environment variable. In the same time Ubuntu Touch has such declaration. But Terminal app is rely on this environment variable. In this case required to declare 'TERM' (e.g.: export TERM=linux) then every command should work after doing this.

This bug occurred on device with Ubuntu Touch or just on Desktop?

I am also affected and I can confirm that the workaround in comment #1 works. I am using ubuntu-terminal-app 0.5ubuntu1bzr53trusty0 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (desktop).

Is this still an issue with the latest terminal reboot (available in store)?

This bug is no longer an issue. Terminal recognizes the 'clear' command and clears the screen.
