adding self-hosted ownCloud account gives "invalid host url" error

Bug Description
I'm hosting my own ownCloud server.
It is set to only allow https and the certificate has been automatically produced by EFF's certbot (uses Let's Encrypt).
When I try to add an account:
URL: https:/
Username: username
Password: password
It stays on the same screen adding "invalid host url" at the top in red letters.
I have copied the address to my phone browser and logged in successfully there.
Looking on the internet I've seen people say that adding an owncloud account only works with http urls, but I have not tried doing so myself so I can't confirm.
