As discussed in Manuel's merge proposal (https://code.launchpad.net/~mandel/ubuntu-sso-client/proxy-creds-windows/+merge/98481) there should probably be a refactoring to move Windows-specific parts of that change out of the top-level script and into a more platform-specific area.
