Oddly, when run in isolation, they run pretty fast:

xvfb-run u1trial -t test_.*_clos -i "test_windows.py, test_qt_views.py" ubuntu_sso/
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":99".
    test_cancel_buttons_close_window ... [OK]
    test_close_callback_if_not_set ... [OK]
    test_closing_main_window_calls_close_callback ... [OK]
    test_closing_main_window ... [OK]
    test_on_finish_close_button_clicked_closes_window ... [OK]
    test_on_finish_close_button_clicked_closes_window ... [OK]

Ran 6 tests in 0.545s
