HTTPS protocol feeds don't work

Bug Description

If I try to add a new channel that uses HTTPS protocol the app fails. I use this url for testing : https://blogs.apache.org/hbase/feed/entries/atom

Seems that Google Feed API can't work with https (or mb with this url only).

It's quite handy for us to use such API because there are lot of types and standards of RSS feeds, we can't handle them all in our app. It's sad, but seems that I can't help.

This seems like a serious problem here. I keep trying to add feeds that all default to HTTPS, and keep wondering why the app just fails to find them, despite being given the exact URL.

Can we atleast get a bug registered upstream against Google Feed API?
