Bug Description

Ubuntu 18.04(.1) release notes should mention that Xorg logs may now go to ~/.local/share/xorg under some or all (which?) circumstances.

Does it matter whether you use KMS / UMS (and how to know what you are using)?

Does X.org vs Wayland matter?

Desktop managers (gdm, lightdm, sddm, others? exceptions?) also seem to log somewhere under $HOME in some conditions - please clarify conditions and log file locations.

This would be quite relevant for people migrating / upgrading from 16.04, since they may not have been in touch with Wayland and with this new way of managing / launching / running these graphics related services (maybe discuss the architectural changes very shortly, too).

Thnak you.

Brian: Since you marked this bug as "fix released", can you point me to where the 'other' (or any) of these questions are answered? Thanks!
