Bug Description

When attempting to login with UbuntuOne id, authentication asks for only email address from UbuntuOne id, then returns an error.

Go to report bug on launchpad.net. Authenticating on launchpad.net asks for email & Full Name from UbuntuOne id.

After authenticating on launchpad.net, iso.qa.ubuntu.com now requests both name and email from UbuntuOne id upon logging in.

After requesting both name and email, iso.qa.ubuntu.com now allows login.

This is known and a request tracker ticket has been sent to the Canonical IS team.

This caused havoc at our Ubuntu Global Jam in San Francisco on 8th of February 2015. None of our new users who didn't have SSO or Launchpad accounts were able to log in to report results and I didn't find this bug report in time to help them out. Instead I just had them submit the bugs and said I would follow up independently. It was very discouraging.

Is there a 'meta-bug' for this issue? It certainly sounds like it's not limited to the isotracker.

I have an existing RT ticket #24297 open with Canonical IS for how this impacts the help.ubuntu.com/community wiki and loco.ubuntu.com but I haven't seen movement on it since May of 2014.

I've asked IS to take a look again. Quick link: https://rt.ubuntu.com/Ticket/Display.html?id=24297

Seems that people need to get SSO account then login to launchpad before visiting the tracker

Nicholas Skaggs (nskaggs) wrote :

We've added a link to the top of the tracker for this. If this happens to anyone else, visit

https://launchpad.net/+login

Then go back to the tracker and it should all work.

Nicholas Skaggs (nskaggs) wrote :

Closing this as I believe the login link above solves all remaining issues after the IS fix.
