So apparently Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop version isn't working because of already existing splashscreen bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ps3-port/+bug/285218

But if I tried to bypass this problem by launching livecd session with kboot parameters live nosplash quiet system could get past automated gdm logon, but cursor froze quickly after that. My best guess because of lack of RAM?

Next thing I tried to launch installer from kboot with install nosplash quiet and I got to screen that showed new 9.04 background image, but then again system froze. After that I tought to try with same parameters, but to try to add videomode with sdtv resolution to try to minimize used memory and same thing. Background appeared and it got just a little bit further so that I could see menu "template" of first installer screen without any text (language selection screen menu) and then system freeze.

After these I tried to issue check command from kboot, but it doesn't work. Now I'm trying to figure out if it's actually faulty install media or is the latest and actual release of 9.04 Desktop image completely useless?
