ubuntu-online-tour package shows Thunderbird in the launcher, but there is no icon in 12.04

The ubuntu-online-tour_0.11-0ubuntu1~ubuntu12.04.1 package shows the launcher has the Thunderbird icon in it when 12.04 does not have it.

I've attached a screenshot that shows what's happening. Notice on the left of the Tour, you see the Thunderbird icon, but if you look at a 12.04 desktop, there is no Thunderbird icon.

This is due to Ubuntu not installing with Thunderbird in the launcher. We discussed how to make Thunderbird easily discoverable to the user and decided it was best to have it on the launcher from the start.

Since the Thunderbird icon is not in the Launcher by default, I could see this would be a source of confusion for a user. At a minimum, shouldn't the Ubuntu Online Tour describe how to get the icon into the Launcher?

Anthony, Christopher's suggestion to have the guided tour walk the user through adding the thunderbird icon to the launcher is a good one and better solution in my opinion. Can you consider that for a future release of the online tour?

Hi Christopher,

I've investigated this bug and as the Long Term Support (LTS) version is now v.14.04.3, this bug is now obsolete.

With the latest version, Thunderbird is installed by default and the icon will appear in the Launcher when it is active.
