Transfer date from and to Ubuntu-Nexus7 via USB

A frequently asked question on askubuntu is how to transfer data from a Nexus7 running Ubuntu to another PC.

If there isn't any solution at the moment this is request to support MTP or PTP on ubuntu-nexus7,
and is probably something for the wishlist.

Expected behavior:
- connect Ubuntu-Nexus7 via USB to a PC
- PC should recognize the Ubuntu-Nexus7 as mountable Device (USB-Drive)
- probably showing the home folder or public folder of the current user-session on the Ubuntu-Nexus7

These answers refer to the nexus running android, not to the nexus running ubuntu.
