Bug Description

I was curious if it could be possible to get dual boot working so that we can continue to use android while developing the ubuntu environment. The only thing that is stopping me from having ubuntu on my 7 full time.

I tried to backup a image with CWM http://goo.gl/iC5rz but it didn't work. I would be happy if that would work.

I see no reason why it would not be possible. Starting with something like Cyanoboot (as implemented on the Nook Color AOSP builds) could make life a bit easier. They used it to choose between EMMC and SD boot but something similar could probably be done with the regular EMMC system partition containing android and an Ubuntu image in the data partition. I don't have my Nexus 7 yet otherwise I'd be happy to try building Cyanoboot for it and giving it a shot.

Update: Just as I thought, cyanoboot is based on u-boot. Should be possible if we can make Ubuntu work in such an environment.

If anyone can figure this out, we will gladly add it to the wiki how-to, however this is unlikely to be implemented into the official image at this time
