While you're at it, you can disable snd-hda-intel - it just causes error messages later on :-) (There is no way we can get HDMI anyway, so...)

This config is disabled too if we take out INTEL_HDA.

config SND_HDA_PLATFORM_NVIDIA_TEGRA
bool "Build NVIDIA Tegra platform driver interface for HD-audio driver"
        depends on SND_HDA_PLATFORM_DRIVER
        help
Say Y here to build NVIDIA Tegra platform driver interface for
          HD-audio driver.

So by no HDMI you mean non HD-audio driver and that is fine for now?

Oliver Grawert (ogra) wrote :

this should actually cover more than just usb audio, we initially left the modules off to cut down build time for the kernel. now that we dont constantly rebuild we should switch to the same options the other ubuntu kernels have enabled (for USB stuff at least)

summary: - please consider turning on usb-audio module
+ please consider turning on all possible modules for external USB
+ devices

Please test the kernel in the staging PPA for the USB_AUDIO fix.
We need a separate bug to cover syncing properly with mainline kernel's configuration.
