Bug Description

The built-in network manager for ubuntu moblin remix 9.10 doesn't support 128-bit WEP passphrase authentication. I've tried both the passphrase and converting it into hexadecimal. Using gnome with regular ubuntu 9.10, network-manager-gnome has an option for "128-bit WEP passphrase." So I tried installing network-manager-gnome and typing 'nm-applet' but it won't open.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MeetingLogs/openweekKarmic/MoblinRemix suggests using network-manager-netbook which can be found at https://edge.launchpad.net/~moblin/+archive/ppa/

$sudo apt-get install network-manager-netbook with the PPA repository added gives:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
network-manager-netbook: Depends: libnm-glib0 (>= 0.7.1~20090213+gitf142e15) but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

I tried wicd as well, and it doesn't support the 128-bit passphrase authentication either.

Oh, and the PPA repository won't let me report a bug. I can view outstanding bugs and questions asked, but it won't let me submit my own. I tried contacting the owner of the repository and s/he never responded.

I also tried reporting this problem on the moblin developers list (they said to talk to the ubuntu people), the ubuntu dell mini list (no one responded), as a bug to the network-manager-gnome package (no one responded), the moblin IRC room (no one responded), and the ubuntu IRC room (no one knew anything about moblin).
