I've noticed it usually happens while setting up xserver-xorg-input-mouse package

It is enough to install xorg package in the chroot session to get a X crash.

Any ideas?

Changed mouse, now it crashes when setting up xorg-xserver-input synaptics !
The same problem happens if I customize a livecd using commandline without UCK.. which component should I mark as affected?
xorg-xserver? hints?!

are you using uck 2.4.4?

I'm also having some issues with stability in Natty - just a few minutes ago a shell procedure with essentially a single "exit 0" line in it dumped core in the chroot environment :-( Restarted the procedure and everything went dandy.

I don't think it's UCK that is broken - there just is too much "unripe" code in Natty still.

Yes, i'm using 2.4.4 form natty repos.

$ dpkg -l | grep uck
ii uck 2.4.4+repack0-0ubuntu1

Anyway as Wolf Geldmacher said above probably is not related to UCK but to X,
because i tried to customize a livecd image without UCK, using commandline, and I got same crash.
Probably a full backtrace of X could help.

Not an UCK problem.
