Bug Description

Since upgrading - during which there was a message to close the xscreensaver daemon due to the change in the C libraries - two of these have stopped working here.

Not working:

  glschool ("crashed with SIGABRT")
  photopile ("crashed with SIGSEGV")

Working: all the rest (not tested BSOD, unicode, or webcollage - not installed)

The ones that aren't working show a red "crashed with SIGABRT" (glschool) or ".. SIGSEGV" (photopile) error message.

glschool will show ok in the small preview, but not full screen or activate. Other modules will happily access the pictures folder (eg GL Slideshow).

By coincidence, these are two of my four favourite modules...

Ubuntu MATE 22.10 updated from 22.04 (and back to whenever I got this PC)

dpkg says I have the following installed:

ii xscreensaver 6.02+dfsg1-2ubuntu1 amd64 Screensaver daemon and frontend for X11
ii xscreensaver-data 6.02+dfsg1-2ubuntu1 amd64 Screen saver modules for screensaver frontends
ii xscreensaver-data-extra 6.02+dfsg1-2ubuntu1 amd64 Extra screen saver modules for screensaver frontends
ii xscreensaver-gl 6.02+dfsg1-2ubuntu1 amd64 GL(Mesa) screen saver modules for screensaver frontends
ii xscreensaver-gl-extra 6.02+dfsg1-2ubuntu1 amd64 Extra GL(Mesa) screen saver modules for screensaver frontends
