Preferred Applications not listing installed application

Bug Description

After installing the preferred media player "mpv Media Player", it is not offered as a choice in Preferred Applications, only Celluloid.

I can use mpv Media Player with "Open with ..." on any A/V file, but it only opens with Celluloid on dble click, even as Celluloid doesn't list in Applications> Sound & Video menu.

Several re-boots have not changed anything.

Ubuntu-mate 21.10

I can't reproduce this on fresh Ubuntu MATE 21.10 install.
Please reinstall both applications using

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install --reinstall mpv celluloid
update-menus

Then retry and if error persists - put the contents of `~/.config/mimeapps.list` file along with output of `apt-cache policy mpv celluloid` to next comment.

Thankyou, Norbert.

I have re-installed Impish since I discovered a large number of broken packages showing on Synaptic.

All is well now, and I assume that the original install became corrupted.
