So we have the archive https://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/graphics/blender/release/Blender2.92/blender-2.92.0-linux64.tar.xz with checksums

MD5 ( https://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/graphics/blender/release/Blender2.92/blender-2.92.0.md5 ) - 43b909ee3e36d4ed3bb9d004b5fbc3e7
SHA256 ( https://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/graphics/blender/release/Blender2.92/blender-2.92.0.sha256 ) - 2cd17ad6e9d6c241ac14b84ad6e72b507aeec979da3d926b1a146e88e0eb3eb4

I checked the sums of downloaded file, both of they match.

Extraction results are below:

* Ubuntu MATE 12.04.5 LTS (EoL) with Engrampa 1.8.1 = OK
* Ubuntu MATE 14.04.6 LTS (EoL) with Engrampa 1.8.1 = OK
* Ubuntu MATE 16.04.7 LTS (EoL) with Engrampa 1.12.0 = OK
* Ubuntu MATE 18.04.5 LTS with Engrampa 1.20.0 = OK
* Ubuntu MATE 20.04.2 LTS with Engrampa 1.24.0 = OK
* Ubuntu MATE 20.10 with Engrampa 1.24.1 = OK
* Ubuntu MATE 21.04 (dev ver) with Engrampa 1.24.2 = OK

I do not see any warning. So you have some network or other problems.

In other words I can't reproduce the issue. Thanks for report in any way.
