Bug Description

ie. i installed vncviewer via the terminal using the 'sudo apt install' instruction as a .deb file and the program installs fine. however it doesn't show in the 'all programs' list via menu until i reboot the system. if i install anything via the software boutique then this program does show in the 'all programs' list.

flagging this as i was perusing reddit and someone else had noticed this. here is the thread on reddit...

https://www.reddit.com/r/UbuntuMATE/comments/jp8q9r/why_do_freshly_installed_applications_only_show/gbdaz52/?context=3

i am using 20.04lts ubuntu mate with contemporary desktop.

The root cause of this issue appears to be due to the mate-menus package not having any triggers for /usr/share/applications

libmate-menu also needs updating to ensure its menu monitor event handler correctly queues events.
