Maximum screen backlight at resume from suspension

I've installed Ubuntu Mate 18.04 (LTS) on my Macbook Pro 13" (model 11,1) in order to use it as main operating system. Every works pretty well, except that every time I resume the machine after suspending it, the screen brightness is put to its maximum value. This is pretty annoying, especially in the evenings.

I've also seen this issue on a 2010 or 2011 MacBook Air, which stopped working so I can no longer use to test.
