Upper left desktop corner graphical issue

I am using ubuntu mate 16.04 and just made an apt update apt upgrade this morning.

Since that moment my top left screen corner seems to not refresh properly.

I add a screenshot showing the issue.

I this screenshot you will see what happens when I switch desktop (control key + left arrow), but it happen again if I switch between applications in the same desktop (alt + tab), even when I am writing some text in that part of the screen it looks weird.

Can you tell us please what GPU and drivers you have and what system compositor you use. I will mark as incomplete until we will have more info.
