System:

Ubuntu MATE 18.04.1 LTS amd64
Caja 1.20.2

How to reproduce:

1) open caja in your home dir
2) press F3 to enable extra pane
3) enter any subdir (e.g. Downloads) in the *left* pane via doubleclick
4) enter a different subdir (e.g. Pictures) in the *right* pane via doubleclick
(the right pane is now active)
5) press the breadcrumb button of your home dir above the *left* pane

=> expected:

- *left* pane switches back to your home dir

=> actual:

I can confirm the bug description. Exactly the same problem I have discovered on my own and also on several other machines since 18.04 LTS. On 16.04 it was still working properly. The address bars of the two columns should work independently from each other, each on its own column, but there is a confusion of unexpected behaviour. I assume all users are suffering from that.

Bug (annoying) and still exists in Ubuntu MATE 18.10 / (same) Caja 1.20.2.
Can't confirm the previous statement

Was already broken in 16.04

Yes, bug annoying and still exists, but I keep confirming on my machine with 16.04 CAJA was behaving properly without that bug. Is a bit strange.

Now I am wondering, on my machine the bug is not existing any more. After an Ubuntu update it had disappeared, I thought fine, they have fixed it. But I cannot remember which update it was (months ago). From my point of view you can cancel it.
