Bug Description

I have a Python application that uses the Python multiprocessing library to spawn multiple processes. Each process is effectively a sensor that feeds data to a multi-processing queue and the parent process performs tasks based on the queue entries.

Code is here: https://github.com/leematthewshome/robotAI_python3

This code runs fine on Raspbian. The code also runs fine on Ubuntu. However when I tested the code with Ubuntu Mate for Raspberry Pi it would fail. I could run each sensor as an independent Python process just fine. But if I tried to spawn them from the parent via the Python multiprocessing library they would fail. Therefore indications are that the problem is with how Ubuntu Mate for RPi works with the Python multiprocessing library.

Please let me know what other information you need.
