Bug Description

Using Ubuntu-Mate 18.4
When i copy a DVD or MKV film of series from one to another external HDD Caja often disappeares suddenly. Copy is not finished and i have to start over again.
This happens on all mij 4 devises. Friends of mine get the same problem.
I am a Ubuntu user a long time and this never happened before. It is only in Ubuntu-Mate 18.4
Because of this problem i had to stop using the beautifull Ubuntu-Mate 18.4 and have now Linux-Mint-Mate 18.3 Sylvia.
There is no problem there. My heart is always with Ubuntu and especially the Mate version.
I made already a donation but now i had to leave Ubuntu-Mate. Many tears now.
Greatings to you all with high respect for all the beauty you have given , Balder Schilt the Netherlands

I'm not a developer, but in order for this to get fixed, we can safely assume the devs will need to either be able to reproduce the issue themselves, or at least have someplace to start like a specific error message.

Personally, I have not seen this issue, so that might mean it is triggered only with a certain combination of hardware, language, settings, etc.

Did you see any error message, and if so can you paste it here? If you still have access to a computer running Ubuntu MATE 18.04, can you run caja from a terminal and reproduce the issue, then paste any error text from the terminal into this thread?

Many thanks for the replay Matt Mayfield.

Yes i still have the sistem.  No i did not get a report.

All the time i saw that i could sent a report but that did not work.

It even did not show the report. In 16.4 was always given a report here not.

After crashe came later a window telling me Caja crashed but i knew that
of cource.

No idea how to run Caja in terminal en find a report.

What command to i have to give to do so? And to who should i send it?

What you think about a combination is good possible.

When Kubuntu 16.4 came was there a conflict with the Dutch language so that

after installation the computer stayed black. Devellopers knew it.

It lasted many month before that was fixed.

What i always do is making wobbeling windows. That real Linux thing i
like very much.

That never gave problems en it gives no problem in Mint but it could
give a problem in Ubuntu 18.4 ?

Because i still have the sistem i will check that after switch of the
wobbeling windows.

See what happens. But stopping that hurts my feelings.

Dear Matt Mayfield.

You are not a developer but do you know the way to send them what i got
for them?

Midnight i did send you the first answere. Here in Holland some hours
later it is now 08:51

This morning i started Ubuntu Mate 18.4

At first it said that Deamon tool crashed. I forgot to mention that it
happens nearly every time after starting the computer.

Restart and oke.

First action:  Set in Tweak : windows default so no wobbeling windows
anymore. (Tears rolling over mij cheeks)

What i copied from one to other HDD went well but it went well often
also with Wobbeling windows.

After finishing it i got again a crache message. From all this i send
you here screenshots.

Naturally i did send it to the devellopers but i could not see if that
reached them.

After clicking on : go on  that window disappreares and i cannot see
where it went to.

Hopefull that you find the way with this to the devellopers.

Very kind of you having answered me and kindest regards,
