Bug Description

On Ubuntu Mate 18.04, fully up to date as of report. After logging in, windows open and maximize with their decoration partway underneath the top panel. Changing the layout in Mate tweak to something else and back corrects it. Issue is on retina Macbook Pro, mid 2015 model. Have not seen it on other non hi-dpi machines I own and run this on.

What monitor resolution are you using? Also, what's your DPI density set to, Auto-Detect or Regular?

This behavior seems like the system is auto-detecting your display as HiDPI, but having issues in setting it correctly.

Thanks Victor. The resolution is 2560x1600 and it shows as 192dpi. I tinkered with it some and found that if I change from Auto detect to hidpi, the issue goes away entirely. I think you are right in that it is not auto detecting correctly.

Additional information. The problem was less severe when set to hidpi instead of auto detect, but was still there. I was using compiz for a window manager. After switching to Marco with compton compositor, it has gone away entirely. It is still set to hidpi instead of auto. Fixed a tearing issue with Marco configuration that kept me using compiz and not planning to go back now.
