Bug referenced in previous comment (1751266) supposedly fixed with linux firmware 1.172. My broadcom wireless remains inoperative in 4.15.0-10-generic. Previous 4.13.0-32-generic kernel wireless is still working.

After replacing ubuntu MATE alpha with UM beta my broadcom wireless (BCM4311 802.11a/b/g) remains inoperative. NetXtreme BCM5755M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express continues to work.
