Bug Description
Hi... After updating (I believe, anyway) the convenient, reliable sound switcher no longer works, such that, for ex., if I want to make a Google voice call (and am currently listening to a different output) I must switch to "headphones" (this would be a USB headset) AND THEN REBOOT.
Upon rebooting the system will recognize my prior switch to headphones and the headset will work. However, the normal sound output (speakers from the back of the sound card, for ex.) will not work. I must then switch the output, and reboot, etc.
This defect is now making it so that I can not manage to stay within Ubuntu Mate--my fave fire-and-forget distro--and use something else, as it is too frustrating for me to keep rebooting to switch sound.
Thank-you for any help. Sincerely, R. F. Whitmer
