Bug Description

I updated my zesty mate to artful today. I switched to cupertino layout and win + alt doesn't bring the HUD.

Alt only doesn't work either. At least witch chrome and Libreoffice. Any
mate tweak setting that needs to be enabled?

Thanks,

Amir

Also, the left alt key stopped working properly (meaning alt-tab, alt-F2 dont work anymore). And it doesn't activate the HUD.

Is there any remapping that took place and could be reversed?

Thanks, Amir

This seems to be limited to cupertino layout (or maybe other layouts where alt should bring the HUD). I switched to pantheon layout and Alt works fine.

I can't reproduce this. On a fully updated Ubuntu MATE 17.10 the HUD activated via Alt_L reliably displays the HUD when the Cupertino is in use.

We did release a few fixes a couple of days ago.

After switching from Pantheon back to cupertino, HUD didn't activate after Alt_L and Alt+Tab and Alt-F2 didn't work.

I switched to Mutiny and then back to cupertino, now everything works.

I had vala-panel-appmenu (compiled on this computer) installed in zesty, maybe some settings had to be cleared?
