Bug Description

Fresh install of 64bit Ubuntu Mate 17.04 beta with the latest updates

The mate-panel shows up in plank as an open application that you can actually minimize and maximize.

I attached a screenshot but I'm not versed in all the information you might need to look at this so let me know if you need anything else.

I can't reliably reproduce this, but have experienced it once.

I am also having this same issue.

Ubuntu Mate 17.04

The panel wasn't listed in Plank initially but it randomly showed up and now it wont go away. Clicking the panel icon on Plank minimizes the panel.

What I did was to go into panel preferences and under "Behaviour" turn off "Show Unpinned".
No more panel icon in plank.

I have the same issue on Debian 10.3 with MATE.
Strangely enough, I have another laptop with the same setup, and I have never seen it there, I didn't even know this issue exists. Not sure if any of the apps I have installed make the difference (I don't have the above mentioned libremenu installed, i don't even see it in repos).

Btw, there is another duplicate bug #1733078
