Bug Description

I have installed Ubuntu MATE 16.10 on virtualbox and after 5 minutes usage I get over 500 lines of these warnings at the `~/.xsession-errors` file:

`Window manager warning: Log level 128: State 0 for GtkWindow 0x55d0bab76b20 doesn't match state 128 set via gtk_style_context_set_state ()`

The number after `GtkWindow` changes each time. After 10 miuntes the warnings are over 1000 lines. Ways to reproduce:
1)Make sure that marco (Software compositor) or Marco (No compositor) is selected at MATE Tweak.
2)Open the `~/.xsession-errors` file.
3)Keep using Ubuntu MATE and watch as the errors grow second by second.

Haven't tested it on real hardware, but I don't think virtualbox makes any difference.
