fcitx breaks typing Greek composite characters

Since http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mate-dev/ubuntu-seeds/ubuntu-mate.wily/revision/18, fcitx is preinstalled in ubuntu-mate.

In the Greek keyboard layout (us,gr), we press Alt+Shift to switch to Greek, and then type for example
";" + "a"
and that gives us
"ά"

Unfortunately now in both the mate live CD session and the installed system, this gives us
"´α"

i.e. the accent (tonos) is considered a separate character from alpha.

If I run this in the live session:

sudo dpkg -r --force-all fcitx-bin
sudo lightdm restart

Then the problem is fixed (I can't use apt-get purge because ubuntu-mate-core now depends on fcitx).

Martin, please also keep an eye on LP: #1481025.

If Gunnar commits that patch in im-config, then fcitx won't be running by default for non-cjkv locales, and won't be causing any issues at all.

Hi Martin, I don't mind at all if fcitx/ibus are installed or not,
since LP #1481025 means that they won't be running for people that don't need them,
which means that they won't be messing up our keyboard layouts.

So feel free to close it, either with or without your patch.
