Bug Description

I installed Ubuntu MATE remix Alpha2 on my netbook Acer Aspire One D270. When I open a caja's window, it's all right, but when I open two windows in caja, in the second the buttons "minimize, maxi, ize, close" on the right side disappear, and the little button with a short menu on the left side disappear too. If I close the second window, the first appears OK but, if I open another window, this is without the buttons.

Please, can you test this in Ubuntu MATE 15.04 Beta 1 and let me know if it is resolved. I've not been able to reproduce it myself.

I have tested this in 15.04 Beta 2 (fully updated) and this issue happens not because of 2 Caja windows open but when a window is not in focus.

1. Open any window (Caja, Control Centre etc)
2. Left Click outside the window (window will then not be in focus)
3. Hover the mouse cursor over the 3 buttons to the right and the left window control button
4. Buttons disappear when hovered over when the window is not in focus.

I've added an image so you can see. The buttons are not merely faded when hovered but the graphics do actually disappear.

Does this happen with Marco as the window manager or only when using Compiz? What GPU do you have?

I can confirm this happens on Ubuntu Mate 14.04.2 32 bit with Compiz enabled. I am using an ASUS board and intel i3 quad core and an AMD Radeon R7 200 GPU. I am using Ambiant Mate theme with Faenza Dark icon set. But, I can also confirm this happens irrespective of theme used.

This problem seems to occur irrespective of whether a window is in focus or not. Or, at least, once I have noticed it, it doesn't matter if the window is the active one or not. The minimize, maximize and close buttons are gone and stay gone. That is to say, they are not merely greyed out. They have disappeared. The only fix I have found for it is to go to mate tweak, change from Compiz to Marco, then immediately back to Compiz and the buttons re-appear.

However, the problem reoccurs within around 15 to 20 minute on average.

I'm also experiencing this issue. Currently running 14.04.2 with Compiz enabled on an Gigabyte motherboard intel i7cpu.
The issue happens about once in every session at random times. Mostly when I have 2+ windows open.

The way I fix it is I go the windows list on the bottom panel, right click on the window that is giving me issue, Select minimize then right click the same window and select unminimize and the buttons re-appear
