 sudo apt update && sudo apt -y dist-upgrade

2. Ensure the upgrade process is looking for any new LTS version

* "Software Updates" section
 * enable "Pre-released updates"
* "Release upgrade" section > "Show new distribution releases"
 * select "Normal Releases"

* confirm it is looking for the intended version
sudo do-release-upgrade -d -c

3-4. Launch upgrade process

sudo do-release-upgrade -d
