Bug Description

I'm testing 20201021.2 test case 1309, screen-reader installation. It has instruction "Press Super+1 to begin the installation. Super is the left windows key". Doing so does nothing on Ubuntu MATE.

Super+1 appears in the following test cases:

testcases/packages/Xfce/1571_Xfce4 Keyboard Settings:
Press Super+1

testcases/image/1309_Install (Screen Reader):
Press Super+1 to begin the installation. Super is the left windows key

So either this is doesn't work in desktop environments other than Ubuntu Mate or Ubuntu Mate needs a new test case.

Super+1 is actually a keyboard shortcut for gnome-shell and this does work in qemu when you set up the virtual machine to grab input. So its likely that the MATE test case is wrong.

Actually this does work in Ubuntu MATE so I suspect your virtual machine wasn't set up correctly to grab the Super key.

Hi Brian, Super key works in my virtual machine. I'm able to start screen-reader with Alt+Super+S. Also able to launch brisk menu with it.

When we say 'Super+1', we understand as "press 1 while holding Super key", just like say, Ctrl+A. When I do Super+1 nothing happens. However, if I press Super, release it and then press 1, it shows installer in the Brisk menu; this is application search and launch in brisk menu rather than shortcut key.

Still affected by this. Testing Ubuntu MATE 20210304 ISO.

As mentioned in #5, Super+1 does not work like say Ctrl+C would. What works is, pressing in sequence as below:
- Super (have to release key, not keep holding it. screen reader reads, 'Window...Text...Type to Search')
- 1 (installer now shows up as search result)
- Return/Enter (installer starts).

What I'm asking is UM's test case should be re-phrased to match this.
