Bug Description

“The filter criterion is cleared and the application again displays all available MIME types”
In the previous step we use “MIME Type list” in stead of “application”.

“Click on the "Default Application" column heading
The list is sorted alphabetically by application name”
It does indeed, but it starts with all items which have no application in that field – so all the tester sees at first are empty fields in that column, and s/he can not tell if they really have been sorted alphabetically… solution: click twice (to have to sort order reversed)?, or browse the list until filled fields become visible?

“Click on "Mousepad"
A drop-down list appears displaying two recommended applications, Mousepad and LibreOffice Writer”
As touched upon elsewhere: this assumes we are running on a fresh install, which we do not mention anywhere in the test case– we assume people have not installed any other editors (like FocusWriter or Vim as I have).
Or we should rephrase this, to make it independent from which ever extra editors are present.

“Right-click on the same .log file in File Manager and select "Open with LibreOffice Writer" from the Properties drop-down”
Start this line with: In File Manager…?
Also: “the Properties drop-down” ? Not sure I know what we mean by this. I would say we are seeing a context menu, in which we have to click “Open with…”→ "Open with LibreOffice Writer"

I believe in other places we have said something like "assumed that default state of applications exists" - choose your wording.
