Bug Description

This test case (generic/308) will hang on i386 system and gets killed when our timeout setting kicks-in.

Discussion could be found here:
https://lkml.org/lkml/2015/9/26/466

The patch in the mail thread was not applied.

I think we need to update our repo first to see if this is something related to the xfstest test suite itself.

Hi Sam & Sean,

I see lots of test suites that are named like this: "ubuntu_xfstests_btrfs", "ubuntu_xfstests_xfs". I think the test suite I should be looking for in the logs on our Jenkins server is "ubuntu_xfstests_xfs", is that correct?

If so, I only see an i386 entry for that test suite under Bionic and it would appear we don't even make it as far as generic/308: http://10.246.72.4/test-results/4.15.0-68.77-generic/fozzie__4.15.0-68.77__2019-10-30_17-14-00/ubuntu_xfstests_xfs/results/ubuntu_xfstests_xfs.xfs/debug/ubuntu_xfstests_xfs.xfs.DEBUG.html

I'll try to find a bug that describes what's shown in that log, otherwise will create one as I think this bug is blocked until we can progress to test case 308.

That's correct, the suite might be failing with different cases on different releases.
And sometimes the test was not started because of the HW issue.
