Bug Description
The back button properly pops an item off the page stack on the desktop, but does not on a device (or at least an emulator).
This is related to bug #1296469: Items on the toolbar get only touch events on the device for some reason. But in core.js, the back button is given only a click handler. Adding a touchend handler ought to solve this.

This works for me on an emulator running r226.
