Bug Description

When I start a gnome application it takes a very long time to start. When I launch it from he terminal it freezes for ~30 sec and then display an error message that can change depending on the application but always contains the following:

Error creating proxy: Error calling StartServiceByName for org.gtk.vfs.AfcVolumeMonitor: Timeout was reached (g-io-error-quark, 24)

After that the applications might or might not start.

So far the impacted apps are Nautilus, Gedit, Dconf-editor.

I am using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS with GNOME Shell 3.36.2.
