Bug Description

17.10 alpha installed on virtual box. 4.12.0-13 worked as expected... surprisingly well. After installing updates, the system goes black after the initial Ubuntu logo, before the login screen. Choosing safe mode graphics does not help.

Starting with advanced options and choosing 4.12.0-13 works properly.

This problem appeared immediately after running updates on 21 September 2017 (4.13-0-11).
