Super+L Fails to Lock screen

Bug Description

According to GNOME - Settings - All Settings - Keyboard - Lock screen

Super+L should lock the screen. In GNOME Shell 3.22.2 it does not
If the key is changed, that does not lock either
Worked in 3.20

using lightdm since gdm3 is basically broken 3.18 onwards in a flawed double-instance architecture causing a large amount of trouble
