When I run Etherape as a normal user it launches, but as my system is configured so that only root can capture, I am forced to run Etherape with sudo, however this means that the only output I get is this and that the program does not work as it does not launch and just exist after printing this:

I am running Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 with GNOME 3.22 and this only started happening after I switched from Xorg to Wayland via the login screen.
