Bug Description

When running GNOME Classic, I found that the taskbar button corresponding to the current window had nearly unreadable light green text against a light grey background. Worse, this holds true for apparently any GTK+ theme, including the so-called "High Contrast" theme.

Taskbar buttons for other windows appear fine.

This is with the Xenial Xerus Daily Live DVD, 04-04-2016. I tried this on a Mac Mini with NVIDIA graphics and a Thinkpad laptop with Intel graphics.

Version 3.18.3-2.

Unless GNOME 3.20 is going to make it into Xenial Xerus, I don't see how that's relevant.

It turns out that in the CSS file "classic.css" for the Window List extension, the taskbar text for a focused window button is specified as "white", which contrasts poorly with a light grey background. Changing "white" to "black" seems to work well. The attached patch was diff'd against the "classic.css" file from the Xenial Xerius Ubuntu GNOME live DVD for 4/9/2016.

The attached screenshot is for the taskbar after the above attached patch, "classics.css.diff", has been applied.

The attachment "Patch to fix color for text in focused taskbar button in GNOME classic" seems to be a patch. If it isn't, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the "patch" tag, and if you are a member of the ~ubuntu-reviewers, unsubscribe the team.

J. J., do you have any experience with git? It would be really useful if you could forward a Git patch for this issue to GNOME.
