Bug Description

I'm using Microsoft optical mouse 100 on my PC and everything works well on ubuntu gnome 14.10. Yesterday I update it to 15.04 through update-manager -d. During the process some errors about avahi raised and I just ignored them.

After update I find that if I don't move mouse for 3+ s, then it will hibernate (even the lcd in it won't work). Although I can wake it up by clicking buttons, it is still disturbing because it takes time to wake up.

Here is what I find in apt.log
Setting avahi-daemon (0.6.31-4ubuntu4) ...
update-rc.d: warning: start and stop actions are no longer supported; falling back to defaults

In dmesg:

I'm experiencing the same problem, even though I've updated all my packages. The mouse only wakes up on clicking, but is never shown to disconnect after boot in dmesg, nor does lsusb show the device is no longer connected.

LhoZheng, if it occurs every startup and hibernation, do you have a
workaround that stops this behaviour?

Hmm... I have found a workaround:
Just plug your USB mouse out and then plug it in again, after this operation it seems to work normally.

I've noticed that when my laptop's AC state changes, the workaround fails,
and I need to remove and reseat my mouse cable. What's battery power, and
AC power got to do with my mouse auto hibernating?
