[gnome3-team ppa] totem (aka Videos) 3.15.4 segfaults

Currently, totem (from gnome3-staging PPA) won't play ANY video, but simply bail out after 1 or 2 seconds with a segmentation fault.

Oh I should add that I simply called the application by typing "totem somevideo.mp4" on console. (as it makes no sense clicking around in the GUI when the basic things do not work well yet)
