Bug Description

Hello All,

After creating a bootable thumb drive, I booted from it and chose try UbuntuGnome. The problem is it is still stuck in the black screen and not showing anything. I waited for a long time but nothing happened.
Also, I tried the install option and it took a long time to move to the next window but it allowed me to go after quite some time.

Machine specs:
Intel core 2 duo, 2.3 GHz, 4GB Ram, 500GB HD
Thumb drive: 8GB Sandisk.
Machine is wire connected to the internet.

This is so important please find a solution to this, specially the install option I don't know why it is taking that much time. I didn't try the pure ubunutu so I don't know if this is a problem introduced by Ubuntu-Gnome.

Thank you.

Did you test with the latest Daily Image?

yes I did. It seems the problem is caused by the thumb drive,
because I tested it on VmBox and it is working without any problems.

Hi I have te same problem when trying to boot Trusty Tahr from a thumb drive.
The screen I get is black with a working mouse arrow.
I can switch to a terminal. inspecting the Xorg logs it looks like the video driver fails to load.
'sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-nouveau' informs me that this driver is installed (This is the driver that ubuntu 13.10 will use on this system).
I tried to install nvidia drivers 'sudo apt-get install nvidia-331' (I write this package name form memory so I could be slighty wrong with the name here)
These install without problems but I failed to restart X.
Tried to 'sudo service ubiquity restart' but that did not work.

I had tried a daily build 2 weeks ago (forgot the exact date...) the installer worked back than form the same thumb drive. But the installed Ubuntu 14.04 would show the same black screen when booted after the installation.
