Unable to install new language through Regional & Language

The "Regional & Language" section of the gnome-control-center provides means to install additional languages but fails to actually install them. No error is presented but when running the control center from the terminal will give you the following:

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open the "Regional & Language" section in the control center
2) Click on "Language"
3) Click on "Install..."
4) Select a language and press "Done"

Why has this bug been marked a duplicate of bug #1368712? If the issues are the same then it would be the other way around, bug #1368712 being a duplicate of this one. If you read more closely you'll find that the issue is not the same in the first place. In case of bug #1368712 you are not seeing additional languages to select, this bug is about being able to select them but not triggering an installation of those languages.
