Bug Description

Almost everything crashed. No wallpaper, in gnome session software Updater crashes continously, I installed linux kernel thru Terminal after Updater froze in the middle of the job.
Now even in Unitu things do not seam very bright.

How exactly did you install the GNOME3 PPA?
Did you run 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' ?
Are you sure that your upgrade has completed successfully ( 'sudo apt-get -f install' might help)?

Installed as described in WebUpd8's relevant article of a few days ago.
Did not run "dist-upgrade"
If I remember well I first run "sudo apt-get upgrade" which seamed to
finish the job, then "sudo apt-get -f install" as advised. The above
gave me a functional gnome desktop, but I lost Unity (in the name of
progress?).

Then after using the xfce desktop for a few minutes and getting the
gnome one (besides Unity) full of problems I reinstalled 12.10!
