For example, Astrakhan, city in Russia, moved to UTC+4 time zone jn March 27, 2016. As of December 8, 2016 the following query returns incorrect time zone for this city:
http://geoname-lookup.ubuntu.com/?query=Astrakhan
(Europe/Volgograd instead of newly created Europe/Astrakhan). The time zone for Astrakhan is up to date at geonames.org.
The bug affects me when I try to set "time in other locations" on my desktop Ubuntu installation or do the same in Clock app on my Ubuntu Phone.
I suggest that you should synchronize your database with geonames.org more often (if I understand the process right). |
